Favorite spots in Antwerp

I’ve been traveling a lot the last five years but whenever I’m in Belgium I spend most of my time in Antwerp. There are plenty of great options for picky people like me for shopping, eating or drinks. A couple of my favorites:

All organic, all vegan breakfast and lunch spot, for eating in or taking out. The mixed salad is amazing! Also cold-pressed juices, wraps, sandwiches and a couple of things you never imagined eating again after going vegan, like tiramisu, lasagna or the classic belgian ‘worstenbrood’ (basically dough stuffed with sausage). I’m absolutely in love with this place. I usually take out and picnic in the nearby botanical garden…

In the south part of the city, a cosy book store and coffee place run by a lovely lady. Her selection of books is the best and so is her oatmilk matcha latte! For fans of small, local businesses with a personal approach. You’ll feel how she put her heart and soul in this bar.

Tucked away in a nice little secret corner of town, the food here is always fresh and yummy. Beautiful interior, relaxed atmosphere and healthy dishes for any kind of diet.

Foodie paradise with juices, smoothies and all the stuff we health-freaks dig. Like the chickpea pancake – socca – stuffed with veggies. Need I say more?

Close to the central train station, this hip coffee and tea place is always filled with cool people. There’s awesome coffee, great teas and all kinds of organic lemonades. Also tons of good magazines, newspapers, art display and fine music in the background. Time flies by when you’re sitting here!

If there’s one place that’s passionate about its coffee, it’s Normo. You will taste the love! Awesome people, good location, close to some of the coolest parts of town. Perfect for your coffee stop while strolling through the city.

A classic, with two locations, one close to the centre and another in the south part of Antwerp. Both have a bakery and small shop and a breakfast and lunch area. The one in the centre has a couple of tables in their small garden, for the lucky few.

Relatively new, I discovered this place when I lived in the same street. Close to the city park, with some really delicious dishes! I’m addicted to their flatbread with avocado, poached eggs and pomegranate.

Also check out the list at the bottom of this other post, most of those projects are also Antwerp-based!
